Although I do not like the thought of everyone glued to tablets or phones instead of exploring what the park has to offer, I do feel that in regards to safety, it would be advantageous, but for phone service only, NOT the Internet. I have US Cellular and get phone reception at Sunrise, and I think Paradise too. At Sunrise, I was on a solo hike and able to text my husband before I started my hike and afterwards from the parking lot. I knew with US Cellular phone service I felt that I could easily contact someone in case of an emergency. Verizon uses US Cellular towers and USC uses Verizon for roaming service I am to understand.
